Vehicle Ad Chapter 5
Welcome to Chapter 5 of the 'Vehicle Ad' podcast.
As the ghostly presence continues to cast an eerie shadow,
Manow attempts to ease the tension and restore a sense of normalcy. With a reassuring smile, he
looks at Dang and says, “Dang, what do you think about watching a movie together?
It could be a good way to distract ourselves and unwind from all this.” His suggestion shows his
intention to comfort Dang and bring a touch of normalcy to their evening amid
the unsettling atmosphere.
Dang, sensing Manow's attempt to lighten the mood, responds
with a smile, “How
about we watch the ‘Vehicle
Ad’ movie?
It might be fun and a nice way to distract ourselves. Plus, I think it’ll give us a good laugh.” Her suggestion reflects her
desire to embrace a lighter, more enjoyable activity to counter the unsettling
atmosphere and share a moment of relaxation with Manow.
Dang suggests, "How about we watch the ‘Vehicle Ad’ movie? It's about a Thai
folk story and has an intriguing plot. The film centers around a driver who
falls for a woman dancing at a cultural festival. The ad intertwines their romance
with the elegance of the car, but there's a twist—a female ghost wants to
possess the dancer’s
body to be with her beloved lawyer. The driver, heartbroken after losing his love, is
determined to restore their relationship, even if it means facing death. It’s a captivating blend of
romance and supernatural elements, and it might be just what we need to take
our minds off things.”
Dang asks Manow thoughtfully, "If you were the driver
in that story, what would you do to bring your girlfriend back? How would you
handle the situation to restore your relationship, even with all the challenges
and the supernatural elements involved?"
Manow ponders Dang’s question for a moment, then replies
with a thoughtful expression, “If I were in the driver’s shoes, I’d start by trying to
understand the ghost’s
motives and find a way to address them. I’d look for any way to communicate
with her and resolve whatever is keeping her from finding peace. I’d also seek help from experts
or spiritual guides to navigate the supernatural aspects. But most importantly, I’d stay true to my love and
not give up hope. I’d fight to show how much she
means to me, even if it means making personal sacrifices or taking bold actions. Restoring the relationship
would be my priority, and I’d do whatever it takes to honor that love.”
Dang, touched by Manow's heartfelt response, leans in and
kisses him softly. The
kiss is tender and filled with admiration for his thoughtful and courageous
approach. It’s a gesture of affection that
reflects her deep appreciation for his genuine feelings and the way he values
their relationship. The
moment is sweet and affirming, strengthening their bond and highlighting the
connection they share.
As Manow and Dang share their intimate moment, a sudden
chill sweeps through the room. The soft light from the bedside lamp casts long shadows
on the walls, and an unsettling blue glow begins to materialize in the darkness. The ethereal blue light
gradually takes shape, revealing a ghostly figure—a spectral woman with a
shimmering, translucent form. Her sorrowful, intense eyes lock onto Dang with a
haunting longing. The
room grows colder, and the atmosphere becomes heavy with an eerie presence,
creating a stark contrast to the warmth they had shared moments before. Manow, deeply startled and
alarmed by the apparition, struggles to process the sight of the ghostly figure
amidst their previously intimate and tender encounter.
As the ghostly figure looms in the dim light, Manow feels a
rush of recollection about Dang’s previous relationship. He remembers her explaining that her
breakup with her ex was due to his neglect and busy schedule, which left her
feeling unfulfilled and emotionally distant. Despite the unsettling presence in
the room, Manow’s
focus remains on Dang. With
a deep sense of commitment and understanding, he gently pulls her closer,
resuming their kiss with renewed passion. His touch is both reassuring and
supportive, aimed at alleviating her fears and desires. He stands by her side,
determined to be the partner she needs, offering her the emotional connection
and affection she craves, undeterred by the eerie distraction around them.
In the early morning, Manow wakes up before dawn and heads
to the local temple with a sense of purpose. The soft light of the rising sun
filters through the trees as he approaches, carrying a tray filled with fresh
food offerings. Upon
reaching the temple, he joins a group of locals who have gathered to present
their alms to the monks. With a respectful bow, Manow places the food in the monks’ bowls, a gesture of gratitude
and devotion. The
serene atmosphere of the temple, combined with the ritual of giving, brings him
a sense of peace and spiritual fulfillment. As he finishes, he reflects on the
morning’s
tranquility, feeling a renewed sense of calm and readiness for the day ahead.
As Manow finishes his alms at the temple, a monk, observing
his solemnity, approaches him with a grave expression. The monk's voice is calm yet
filled with a sense of urgency. "Manow," he begins, "I have sensed a troubling
presence. A
ghost seeks to possess Dang's body. This spirit is driven by deep, unresolved desires and
will bring danger if its intentions are not addressed."
Manow’s eyes widen with concern, and the monk continues, "The ghost’s desire is powerful and
dangerous. It
is crucial that you consider breaking off your relationship with Dang to
protect yourself. If
you do not, there is a grave risk that you might be harmed by this malevolent
force. It
is a difficult decision, but it is one that could save your life."
Manow stands in stunned silence, the weight of the monk's
words settling heavily on him. The morning's serenity contrasts sharply with the
chilling revelation, leaving him to ponder the difficult choice before him.
Manow listens intently to the monk's warning, his heart
weighed down by the gravity of the situation. Despite the monk’s grave advice, Manow shakes
his head resolutely. “I
appreciate your concern, but I can't bring myself to break up with Dang,” he replies, his voice firm. “We’ve just started building a
life together, and I’ve
found a home and a better future with her. I understand the danger, but I
believe we can face this together. I’m committed to protecting her and finding a way to resolve
this without sacrificing our relationship.”
Determined to stand by Dang, Manow resolves to support her
and seek alternative solutions, driven by his love and commitment. The monk's warning lingers
in his mind, but Manow’s decision to stay with Dang reflects his belief in their
shared strength and the life they are building together.
The monk's expression remains solemn as he offers Manow a
final piece of advice. “If
you find yourself in immediate danger,” the monk says, his voice steady and
reassuring, “you
can always seek refuge here at the temple. We will protect you and Dang. This is a sacred place where
spiritual protection is strong. But please, be cautious and vigilant. The situation you face is
serious, and your safety is paramount.”
Manow nods, appreciating the monk’s offer of sanctuary. “Thank you for your guidance
and for offering a safe haven. I’ll keep your advice in mind and do everything I can to
keep Dang safe. I’ll stay vigilant and come
here if needed.” With
a deep sense of resolve, Manow leaves the temple, determined to confront the
challenges ahead while keeping the monk’s offer of protection in the back of
his mind.
Manow returns home to find Dang preparing a comforting
American breakfast in the kitchen. The aroma of sizzling bacon, freshly brewed coffee, and
toasted bread fills the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Dang greets him with a
smile, her face reflecting a sense of domestic happiness.
They sit down together at the table, enjoying a hearty meal
of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and buttery pancakes. As they eat, Manow and Dang
share lighthearted conversation, the tension from the previous night
momentarily set aside. Their
breakfast together is a peaceful interlude, a time to reconnect and enjoy each
other’s
company amidst the uncertainty of their situation.
With each bite, they savor not just the food but the comfort
of their shared space and the reassuring presence of each other. The simplicity of the meal
contrasts sharply with the complexities of their recent experiences, providing
a moment of normalcy and warmth as they face the challenges ahead.
As they finish their breakfast, Manow looks at Dang with a
curious expression.
"Dang,"
he asks gently, "do you believe in ghosts?" His question reflects a
blend of concern and curiosity, stemming from their recent unsettling
experiences.
Dang chuckles softly at Manow's question and shakes her head
with a smile.
"That's funny," she replies, her tone light-hearted. "I don’t really believe in ghosts. I think it’s all just stories and
imagination."
Her response reflects her relaxed attitude towards the eerie experiences
they’ve had,
adding a touch of humor to the conversation.
Manow nods thoughtfully, his expression serious. "I actually believe in
ghosts,"
he says, his voice carrying a hint of conviction. "I've had experiences
that make me think there's something out there beyond what we can see. I guess that's why I'm a bit
concerned about the things we've encountered." His admission adds a layer of
sincerity to the conversation, revealing his deeper feelings and fears.
Dang chuckles lightly, shaking her head. "You might be watching
too many movies,"
she says with a playful smile. "There's no such thing as
ghosts. It's
all just stories and imagination. Let's not let it ruin our day." Her response is meant
to reassure Manow and lighten the mood, encouraging him to focus on their
shared moments rather than any unsettling thoughts.
Manow looks at Dang with a curious expression and asks, “Do you have work today?” His question reflects his
interest in her daily plans and how they might spend their time together.
Dang responds with a smile, “Yes, I do have work today. I’m joining the tuk-tuk parade tonight near the
Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. It’s going to be a fun event, and I’m excited to be part of it.” Her answer reveals her
involvement in a lively local event and hints at her enthusiasm for the
evening's activities.
Dang looks at Manow with a curious expression and asks, “Are you going to join the
parade tonight too, or will you be working elsewhere?” Her question reflects her
interest in whether Manow will participate in the local celebration and enjoy
the festivities with her.
Manow shakes his head and replies, “No, I won’t be joining the parade
tonight. I’ll be working instead, but I
hope you have a fantastic time.” His answer shows his commitment to his work while
expressing his genuine hope that Dang enjoys the festivities.
Dang looks at Manow with a thoughtful expression and says, “How about we start our own
tuk-tuk ad
business? We could create unique and memorable advertisements for local
businesses and events. It
could be a great way to combine your driving skills with my creative ideas.” Her proposal reflects her
enthusiasm for a new venture and her desire to work closely with Manow,
integrating their strengths into a shared project.
Manow responds with a hint of modesty, “I only graduated from grade
9, so I don’t
have much formal education. But I’m passionate about tuk-tuk driving and learning new things. If you think we can make
this ad business work, I’m willing to give it my best shot and learn along the way.” His response shows his
dedication and willingness to dive into new opportunities despite his
educational background.
